Finalists Announced at Australia's 2018 Kendall National Violin Competition

The 4 Finalists have been announced at the 2018 Kendall National Violin Competition - in Sydney, Australia

The 4 Finalists have today been announced at the 2018 Kendall National Violin Competition - at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, in Sydney, Australia.

Regarded as one of Australia’s most important domestic development prizes for violinists 23 years and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive AUD $4,000, a violin crafted by Polish-Australian luthier, Michal Prokop – plus a number of domestic concert engagements.

The 2018 Finalists are:

  • Sarah Chang (Sydney)
  • Gemma Lee (Sydney)
  • Johnny van Gend (Melbourne)
  • Dindin Wang (Melbourne)

The final round will be held at the Kendall School of Arts, in Kendall, Australia on the 15th of September.

The final-round jury will comprise: Ole Bohn, Patricia Pollett and Charles Stegemann.

Previous winners include: VC Artist Ray Chen.
