AUDITION | Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra — Principal Second Violin
Applications for a position in the renowned Dutch orchestra are due by September 15, 2022
Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is recruiting for a Principal Second Violin. The successful applicant will receive the loan of an instrument to play on during the length of their tenure with the orchestra.
The Concertgebouworkest is one of the world's top orchestras. Their activities include concerts in the Netherlands and abroad as well as radio, CD and television recordings and a broad range of streaming media activities.
The first round comprises only a letter of application, after which point the committee will request recordings from a selected group of players. After the committee has reviewed these recordings, they will announce which players will proceed to the live auditions.
At the live auditions, repertoire will include a Mozart concerto (either K218 or 219) and a Romantic concerto from the following selection: Beethoven, Mendelssohn (E minor), Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius. These will take place November 24 and 25, 2022.
Applications should be received by September 15, 2022.
