She is an award winner of the concert that the academy held during the 2019 Salzburg Festival, where she was the youngest participant. Recently, Himari won the audience prize at the “Mini Violini 2023” held as part of the Montréal International Violin Competition.

In the 2024 season, Himari will perform with l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva and on tour in Japan, and perform with the Oxford Philharmonic in Japan.

What are your hobbies outside of music?
When I’m not playing music, I like studying, listening to music, and reading books by Japanese authors. I like to watch ballet, and I recently saw my friend playing the main role in Giselle. I also like playing with my grandmother’s dog Hearty, who is half Bichon Frise and half Yorkshire Terrier.
Which violinists do you admire?
Jascha Heifetz and my teacher Ida Kavafian
What would your dream concert be?
I would love to do a recital at Carnegie Hall
What do you enjoy about studying at Curtis?
I like my teacher, and the orchestra class. I really enjoy playing chamber music with my friends.
If you didn’t play the violin, which instrument would you play?
Piano
What is your favourite music to listen to?
At the moment I like listening to Beethoven’s violin concerto, and symphonies by Sibelius and Brahms.
Is there anything about being back in Japan that you most look forward to?
Eating my favourite foods, especially daifuku and ice cream
