APPLY | The UK’s PRS Foundation — The Open Fund for Music Creators
Applications for this fund which offers up to £5,000, will close on September 14, 2022
The Open Fund for Music Creators of the UK’s PRS Foundation aids the development of preeminent songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds at varying career stages. Applicants must be based in the UK.
Artists may apply for grants of up to £5,000, which can support the writing of new music, a stipend, touring and live performances, recordings and releases, creative residency costs, fees to creative collaborators, plus promotion and marketing.
The program’s “Music Creators” includes songwriters, composers, or artists, bands, producers, and performers who are writing their own music or commissioning others. The Open Fund has also been more flexible in financing artists’ needs, especially given the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has been having across the music sector.
While the organization supports high quality new music projects, it is not able to support core organizational costs, salary costs or living costs. For performance projects, the program will only fund one-off performances in exceptional circumstances and prioritize projects which involve either repeat or multiple performances.
Applications must be submitted online by 6 PM on September 14, 2022.

Since its establishment in 2000, the PRS Foundation has given more than £41 million in grants to over 8,100 new music initiatives in the UK. More grants within this organization can be found here.
