The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) is seeking to appoint a new Music Director, who will craft a dynamic, engaging, and culturally relevant future for the organization.
Alongside directing the CSO's already-established orchestra, the new Music Director will be responsible for the repertoire, programming, and artistic production for the organization's emerging opera company, as well as its four youth orchestras.
The successful candidate will have a proven history as a conductor, as well as significant experience curating symphony, pops, and opera seasons. They should also have an instinct for developing imaginative programming that has artistic depth and significance to the orchestra, the opera, and the community.
This will require both a willingness to explore a variety of directions in music making and experience in diverse repertoire.
As well as a personal letter and resume, applicants should provide at least two sample programs that they have conducted over the last two seasons, as well as sample recordings from the same time period.
The salary for this position is between $90k and $110k depending on experience.
