Applications are now open for the 2022 Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition, hosted in South Bend, Indiana.

International ensembles consisting of three to six musicians are eligible, excluding those with more than one piano, or those that are vocal in nature. Individuals are limited to one ensemble, including in the video round, and changes in personnel are not allowed.

The Junior Division is open to those 18 and under as of May 22, 2022. Special exceptions apply to those turning 19 before May 22, 2022, but whose grade level is not higher than grade 12.

The Senior Division is open to those 35 or under as of May 22, 2022, and the ensemble's average age must be less than 31 years old. Ensembles may not include any individual who has previously won the Grand Prize in the Senior Division. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded $10,000.

Proof of a COVID-19 vaccination is required of all ensemble members in order to advance to the live rounds.

This year, the Fischoff Competition announced the "Lift Every Voice Prize" — to be presented during the 49th annual competition — "to amplify and celebrate outstanding works by historically underrepresented voices within the chamber music world." This inaugural prize will focus on works by Black and/or Hispanic/Latino/a composers.

The Senior String Division jury is comprised of Norman Fischer, Nelson Lee, Cecile Licad, and Joanna Mendoza.

The Senior Wind Division jury is comprised of Monica Ellis, Jeff Nelsen, Michael Powell, and Debra Richtmeyer.

The Junior String Division jury is comprised of Anthony Arnone, Elinor Freer, and Rebecca McFaul.

Junior Wind Division jury is comprised of Michele Gingras, Raquel Samayoa, and Nancy Stagnitta.

The Lift Every Voice Prize jury is comprised of Michael Cameron, Jeff Scott, and Julio Elizalde.

Applications are to be received by March 2, 2022. More information is available, here.
