SAD NEWS | Legendary American Accompanist Irwin Gage Has Died - Aged 78

American-born pianist and accompanist Irwin Gage has passed away in Zurich - aged 78

American-born pianist Irwin Gage has passed away in Zurich - aged 78.

A graduate of Michigan University, Yale University and the Vienna Conservatory, he will be remembered as one of the greatest German lieder accompanists of all time - performing regularly with luminaries, including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Jessye Norman, Walter Berry, Peter Schreier, Arleen Auger, Cheryl Studer and Brigitte Fassbaender.

Mr Gage served long-term professorships on faculty at the Zurich University of the Arts and the University of Music Saarbrücken.

Our condolences are with his family, friends, colleagues and students.
