2021 Long Thibaud Crespin Violin Competition Canceled
The competition was originally scheduled for November 2021 in Paris
The Board of Directors of the Long Thibaud Foundation made the decision due to the ongoing health crisis.
The organization is looking into virtual events featuring former prizewinners, which would be broadcast on their website, through social média, and TV channels dedicated to music.
"It is with great regret that the decision to cancel these events was taken, but it must be acknowledged that we had no other choice," a statement from the competition's website said. "As long as the health situation has not returned to normal, it will not be possible for us to resume the organization of the competitions, a complex task that involves traveling all over the world."
"The Foundation would like to express its warmest thanks to Renaud Capuçon, who has been intensely involved in the organization of the event, in particular by succeeding in retaining a jury of exceptional quality."
